New extension for UK’s leading food wholesalers and suppliers

Stephen George + Partners (SGP) is pleased to provide an update on the 61,211.69 sqft extension to Brakes Group’s existing warehouse and distribution facility at Newhouse, Motherwell. The cladding phase has now been completed, and interior fit-out works are currently in progress.  We are proud to be delivering this project in collaboration with the client and Aberdeen Investments via its abrdn Life Long Lease Property Fund.

Situated on a 9.437 ha site, the extension of warehousing with associated docks and marshalling area, will include facilities for battery storage and charging of moveable plant.

The design of the new extension matches the colours and the design of the existing warehouse giving a cohesive final building, which has been in successful use over the ten years since it was completed. The new build will target BREEAM Excellent and an EPC Rating A+ certificate, it is expected to be completed July 2025.
