Halifax Bus Station Celebrated with Prestigious Environmental Award

Stephen George + Partners (SGP) is delighted to share that Halifax Bus Station has been honoured with the Halifax Civic Trust Environmental Award, which will be formally presented on 10th October. The award highlights the station’s outstanding contribution to sustainability, community value and design quality.

Alan Goodrum said: “The West Yorkshire Combined Authority should be commended on an imaginative design, high standard of workmanship, carbon and energy reduction initiatives, inclusive design approach, safe and welcoming asset to Halifax.”

The project has also received wider recognition, including a MacEwen Award 2025 Special Mention, a shortlist place at the 2025 Construction News Awards in the Low Carbon Project of the Year category, and the Transport Project of the Year award at the 2024 British Construction Industry Awards. These achievements confirm Halifax Bus Station as a leading example of environmentally responsible and community-focused transport infrastructure.
