As the largest bus Station within West Yorkshire, Huddersfield bus Station sits below a multi-storey car park with limited visual connectivity with the town centre.

The Clients vison was to provide a structure which would enhance the
bus station with a striking gateway to the town centre, linking with wider town centre improvements to enhance public realm, cycling and pedestrian connectivity to the Railway Station to the North.

The new 120-metre-long undulating glulam structure with full green roof
and photo voltaic cells frames the bus station. Perforated artwork will sit into the MSCP decks above and a large cycle hub sits below the canopy as it addresses McCauley Square.
