SGP wins place on key NHS SBS Framework Agreement
Teamwork, experience and innovation has seen Stephen George + Partners (SGP) named as a supplier on NHS Shared Business Services’ (NHS SBS) Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy and Ancillary Services (HPCCAS) framework agreement (https://www.sbs.nhs.uk/).
Steve Batson, Studio Director at SGP: “We are delighted to have won all four lots we applied for on this important NHS SBS framework agreement. Our wins have been driven by the expertise and innovation of our internal SGP team and the consultants and contractors who we have developed strong ties with over many years delivering an extensive range of healthcare projects.”
The NHS SBS Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy and Ancillary Services (HPCCAS) framework agreement aims to support approved organisations to deliver a range of new build and refurbishment schemes by bringing together project management, design consultancy and ancillary technical services in a Framework which will operate for four years.
Continues Steve: “As part of the process, we were assessed on a range of quality measures, including training, client engagement, fighting climate change and tackling inequality. We are delighted that the assessors picked out our focus on upskilling staff with technical training, and our efforts to attract a diverse workforce, providing mentorship and accessible role models. The feedback also noted our high quality of customer service, and picked out our drive for improvement delivered through channels such as lessons learnt workshops and customer feedback.”
SGP bid for and won four lots, namely Lot 1 – Architectural Services, Lot 7 – Multidisciplinary Services, Lot 9 – Healthcare Planning and Lot 11 – Ancillary Services (SGP Digital services).
The Architectural Services lot will draw on SGP’s long track record of innovative healthcare design, optioneering and technical design and delivery, whilst the practice took a place in the Multidisciplinary Services lot with an SGP led consortia team of Hoare Lea M&E services, Curtins for Structural and Civil engineering and DKP Consulting for QS/PM services.
Andy Vernon, Sector Director of Healthcare at Hoare Lea said; “This win builds on our track record of successful collaborative projects delivered for the NHS and reflects our building services design expertise that is driven by our net zero carbon ambitions for our customers.”
Richard Webster, Managing Director at DKP said: “DKP are delighted to be part of the high calibre team facilitated by Stephen George and to work on this NHS SBS framework agreement.”
Rob Melling, Chief Executive at Curtins comments: “Curtins are extremely pleased to have been named as a civil and structural engineering supplier once again on this key NHS SBS framework agreement. We believe in fostering long term relationships with our clients, and being named on the framework agreement is testament to the strong partnerships we have held with the NHS for many years. We look forward to seeing improvements to the UK’s healthcare estates delivered through this vital framework in the coming four years.”
A Joint Venture between SGP and international specialist health planners, TAHPI, won a place in the Healthcare Planning lot. SGP’s JV, TAHPI + SGP, was created in 2020 to offer a new methodology utilising specialist software to improve healthcare estate planning, delivering necessary facilities exactly where they are needed, through an efficient, flexible and budget-conscious strategic tool centred around the patient journey.
Says Aladin Niazmand, Global Director at TAHPI: “We are proud to join forces with SGP to expand our joint capability and achieve this place as part of the NHS HPCCAS framework, contributing to the ambitious programs being considered. Operating through 11 offices worldwide, including in the UK, TAHPI brings almost 40 years of international experience and innovation to the Joint Venture and looks forward to the challenges ahead.
SGP Digital Services were chosen for the Ancillary Services group, recognising SGP’s ability to add value to a project through its ongoing commitment to developing and applying existing and new smart technologies, such as BIM and VR, to improve communication, efficiency and buildability on any project.
Concludes Steve: “The NHS is celebrating 75 years this year and the service has never before faced such a range and depth of challenges. Through our acceptance on this framework agreement, we hope that we can use our technical knowledge and sector experience to support the NHS through its current difficulties.”
