SGP Promotions Liam, Joseph and Robert

Stephen George + Partners (SGP) is pleased to announce the promotion of three team members, reinforcing the practice’s dedication to cultivating internal talent and fostering a resilient, future-ready business. Liam Mottishaw and Joseph Silva have been promoted to Associates, while Robert Bannerman takes on the role of Principal Architectural Technologist.

Marcus Madden-Smith, Partner at SGP, said: “At SGP, we recognise that our people are the foundation of our success. By investing in their growth, we strengthen our ability to innovate and lead across sectors. These well-deserved promotions reflect the depth of talent within our teams and will enhance our capabilities across industrial, office, hospitality, and residential sectors”.

Liam Mottishaw primarily works within the industrial and office sectors and has also worked on Grade 2 listed buildings such as the Leicester Synagogue. His specialism is delivery, interfacing with clients and contractors and has played a key role in delivering high-specification production facilities and office spaces. A firm believer in equality and fairness, both at work and generally, Liam is a member of SGP’s Social Matrix Group, as well as the Health and Safety Group, building on his mentoring skills to assist in providing training to other staff. He also hopes to further develop his skills by training for the role of a Building Regulations Principal Designer.

Joseph Silva has significantly contributed to the growth of SGP’s leisure and hospitality portfolio as sector deputy. As a member of the industrial team, he has been instrumental in designing and delivering high-quality commercial masterplans across all RIBA stages, including being the project architect on the nationally significant Siemens Healthineers building in Oxford. His role also revolves around the development of brand standards for many platinum clients, employing his expertise and passion for design. Additionally, he leads the SGP Social group, and is also the Co-President of the Leicestershire and Rutland Society of Architects, outside of work.

Robert Bannerman brings a wealth of technical expertise from his background in housing and mixed-use developments, now applied to industrial projects. His focus on collaborative design ensures outcomes that are sustainable, efficient, and productive. As a BIM enthusiast, Robert promotes best practices such as ISO 19650 and champions digital tools like Revit and Navisworks to support clash detection and coordination during project delivery.

Congratulations to all three on their well-earned promotions.
