SGP’s Waterfront House leads the field in a great year for awards
When it came to winning awards, 2019 proved to be an excellent year for SGP’s projects and teams. Leading from the front was SGP’s own Leicester office, Waterfront House, with other winners from the practice’s healthcare, office and commercial sectors.
The design, materials and craftsmanship of SGP’s Leicester office were all recognised, winning both the ProCon Small Non-Residential Scheme of the Year Award and the LJCC Merit Award for Craftmanship, whilst also being shortlisted in the Commercial category of the National Brick Awards.
SGP’s Friar’s Mill, Leicester, a stylish collection of offices for Brackley Property Developments, won a Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Award for Planning Excellence as well as being a finalist for the ProCon Regeneration Project of the Year Award.
SGP, as part of the Interserve Construction Principal Supply Chain Partners (PSCPs) ProCure21+ National Framework Team, are delighted to have been part of an award-winning team delivering the £16.8 million Fieldhead Hospital Non-Secure Unit for South West Yorkshire NHS Foundation Trust winning three awards! These awards include RISE Awards – Collaborative Working, Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber – Integrated and Collaborative Working, CIOB Committed to Construction in Humber and West Yorkshire – Collaborative Working.
Says Michael Barker: “It has been an excellent year for SGP and it’s especially satisfying to see Waterfront House, which we designed specifically to meet the needs of the practice, gaining such recognition. Looking back on our achievements in 2019 makes us all the more excited to see what 2020 will bring and how we’ll progress and develop the business in our 50th anniversary year.”
