Stephen George + Partners LLP (SGP) is delighted to announce the start on site of a new industrial/warehouse unit at the popular Optimus Point industrial park in Glenfield, Leicester.

Construction of a new industrial/warehouse unit at the popular Optimus Point industrial park in Glenfield, Leicester has commenced with SGP working alongside main contractor Glencar Construction and the consultant team.

SGP worked closely with developer Wilson Bowden Developments on the Leicester site to design the speculative unit of 43,000 sqft, with access, parking and servicing area, together with landscaping and all associated earthworks and retaining structures which gained planning consent in July 2021.

Chris Webster said: “Optimus Point is a very popular development, situated near to junction 21a of the M1 and an ideal site for speculative units. We designed this unit as shell and core so tenants can develop their own fit out. The unit has a haunch height from 10m to allow the maximum flexibility for internal racking.”

The proposed buildings have been designed to achieve BREEAM rating of “Good” and an EPC Certificate rating of ‘A’.

Concludes Chris: “This is the latest in a long string of projects for Wilson Bowden Developments and we’re delighted that this SGP designed unit at Optimus Point make up part of Wilson Bowden’s recent £40million sale of 10 warehouses to Urban Logistics REIT. SGP’s strong track record in the sector is testament to our ability to design adaptable speculative units as well as bespoke facilities for individual tenants.”
