To be marking 55 years of exemplary architecture and masterplanning is a proud and significant milestone for Stephen George + Partners (SGP), a testament to our enduring values and adaptive spirit in a changing world.

There is a familiar resonance between today’s challenges and those faced when our journey began – a reminder of how national and global events have continually shaped, sharpened, and strengthened the practice we are today.

When City Architect Stephen George left his post at Leicester City Council in 1970 to establish his own practice at 31 Bowling Green Street, the UK was entering an era of political and economic upheaval. Over the five decades since, the architectural landscape has evolved dramatically – yet our core values remain constant: We Care + We Challenge + We Deliver.

Through recessions, technological revolutions, and the power of a passionate and talented team, SGP has grown into an award-winning AJ100 architectural practice. With five offices across the UK, a diverse and dynamic portfolio, and a network of loyal, long-term clients, SGP continues to lead in masterplanning and architecture, and efficient project delivery – drawing on the lessons of the past as we shape the future.

Our services have also evolved, spanning every stage and scale of the built environment. From architecture and masterplanning to interior design and urban regeneration, we deliver thoughtful, functional solutions that balance creativity with commercial insight. We provide BIM and CGI consultancy services, CDM and Building Regulations Principal Designer roles, and embed sustainability across our work – helping clients meet technical, regulatory, and environmental goals while achieving outstanding design outcomes.
