Bletchley Train Maintenance Depot Enhancements Project Shortlisted for Prestigious Industry Award

Stephen George + Partners (SGP) is delighted to announce that the Bletchley Train Maintenance Depot Enhancements project has been shortlisted for the Upgrade and Renewal Project Award at the 2025 British Construction Industry Awards. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of everyone involved.
The project, led by West Midlands Trains with architectural services by SGP, involved a major upgrade to the historic depot to support the new Class 730 Aventra electric fleet. The £66 million scheme included extending the maintenance shed, adding new electrified and non-electrified sidings, refurbishing office facilities, and introducing sustainability features such as a solar farm and EV charging points.
SGP worked closely with BWB Consulting and Taylor Woodrow to deliver a modern, efficient facility that supports the future of rail maintenance in the region.
Congratulations to all who contributed to this successful project. We look forward to the awards ceremony on Wednesday 8 October in London.
