| The
new £5m sports centre located in the heart of the village
of Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, forms part of a larger complex
which includes, grass football pitches, cricket field and
a floodlit all-weather pitch with dedicated changing room
accommodation. The Centre itself incorporates a 25 metre 4
lane swimming pool, sports hall with space for 4 badminton
courts, fitness gymnasium, dance and aerobics facilities,
sauna suite and crèche facilities.
The development represents the culmination of a long planning
process involving the local community and will help to provide
much needed leisure facilities for Mountsorrel and the wider
Soar Valley Area, the need for which was first formally identified
nearly 20 years ago.
