The new regional HQ building for Centrica
at Blythe Valley provides 11,148 sq m of office space on three
floors with a large 3-storey atrium at its heart. To meet
Centrica’s requirements the building had to be operational
within a 54 week programme. To achieve this tight timescale,
the building was designed in a simple ‘H’ form enclosed
by a skin of curtain walling, which allowed early access for
the fit-out contractor. A second layer of external shading,
walkways and feature panels give the building a strong architectural
presence.
