Regional Award for Loughborough Magistrates’ Court

The Leicestershire & Rutland Society of Architects held their annual awards ceremony on Friday 27 March 2009, with the RIBA President Sunand Prasad as principal guest. The winner of the Building of the Year award was Loughborough Magistrates’ Court.
Stephen George & Partners designed the £15M building for Her Majesty’s Court Service under an agreement with developer William Davis Ltd, and subsequently developed the detail design with Willmott Dixon Ltd. Arup were the engineers. The building achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
This was the second year running that Stephen George & Partners had won the LRSA Building of the Year award.
