Phan-tastic Geoff raises over £1,000 for children

28th October 2019

Sweeping majestically across the dance floor, white masked and cape swirling, the Phantom of the Opera came to life as SGP’s own Geoff Ward took part in Variety’s Strictly Ballroom 2019.

At a glittering night hosted by Strictly 2007 semi-finalist Gethin Jones, Geoff, with professional dance partner Victoria Coultas, performed the Paso Doble to the haunting strains of Phantom of the Opera.

Having been cornered at the recent SGP sponsored Yorkshire Property Awards and flattered into submission, Geoff agreed to take part in Variety’s Strictly Ballroom 2019 to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity dedicated to improving the lives of sick, disabled and underprivileged children.

Geoff didn’t raise the glitterball, but he did smash his £1,000 target by raising £1,480.50 for Variety.

Says Victoria: “Geoff was a star! The event raised a magnificent £21,500 on the night, which will enable Variety to continue providing the much-needed help and support to the children and families across Yorkshire, who need it most. We are so thrilled with this result! It seems like an age ago…. we’ve already started planning for next year!”

Geoff’s Virgin Money Giving site is still open (https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GeoffWard3) and you can find out about Geoff’s experience in his own words in his blog (Blog link) or watch his fantastic performance.
