DMU Prepares New Course

24th December 2014

Stephen George & Partners’ Leicester office has a long-running relationship with De Montfort University. Our involvement includes the employment support of students, external examiner roles, guest lecturing and part-time teaching staff.

With this established local connection, we have given support to a new course, which is designed to help students develop the skills they require to become specialists in the science of architecture, technology, building design and construction.

Launching in 2015, the Architectural Technology BSc course has been designed to meet the current industry demand for graduating students with skills in technical and design capability, to enhance their employability for professional practice and to meet the continually evolving needs of the construction industry.

With the increasing demand for designers who can demonstrate both architectural and technology skills, the industry is especially seeking designers with a knowledge and understanding of Sustainability and with abilities to demonstrate the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM).

We are pleased to see that the University continues to expand it’s offer to students with the introduction of the new course, whilst at the same time also providing opportunities for valuable work experience placements within industry.

As a Chartered RIBA Practice, we look forward to seeing the next generation of Architectural Technologists thrive on this new course and then go forward to make valuable contributions to the construction industry and the environment in the future.
