AJ Sheffield School of Architecture Stand Out Student

1st August 2016

Congratulations to Abigail Humphreys who has been named one of the stand out students at the University of Sheffield for her work on the Blackburn Creative Capital.

Blackburn Creative Capital Live Project was introduced as a project that sought to enhance the presence of creative communities in the town of Blackburn. A team of ten MArch students worked closely with the client with the shared vision of revitalising the Town Centre by developing underused spaces, vacant properties and existing venues through creative works.

The six-week project was greatly received at both a public presentation in Blackburn and on the Live Project Presentation Day, where it was put on display alongside twelve other successful Live Projects from across the school. The team were awarded the ‘Sheffield School of Architecture BDP Live Project Prize’ at the Summer Exhibition opening in July 2016, and were recognised as ‘Stand Out Students’ in the AJ Review of this year’s Summer Exhibitions.

Congratulations to all of those on the project team who produced an exceptional project.
